Product Information
Waxworms are one of the most widely used treat feeders in reptile and amphibian keeping. High in fat and highly palatable, they are ideal for encouraging feeding response, supporting animals coming out of a fast, or simply as an occasional reward alongside a balanced diet. Available in two tub sizes to suit different collection sizes and feeding frequencies.
Nutritional Profile
Waxworms are energy-dense and eagerly taken by most insectivorous and omnivorous reptiles and amphibians. Because of their fat content, they are best offered as a treat rather than a dietary staple — once or twice a week alongside leaner feeders is the standard recommendation. Their soft body makes them straightforward for smaller animals to consume.
Suitable Species
Waxworms are well accepted across a broad range of commonly kept species. Particularly useful for:
- Bearded Dragons
- Leopard Geckos
- Crested Geckos
- Blue Tongue Skinks
- Monitor Lizards
- Pacman Frogs
- Tree Frogs
Packaging and Freshness
Each pre-pack arrives in a ventilated plastic tub with air holes to maintain airflow and keep the worms in good condition during transit. Waxworms are dispatched directly from the breeder, and during colder months a heat pack may be included to protect them in transit. In warmer weather, additional ventilation may be added to the outer packaging.
Keeping Your Waxworms
Store at room temperature away from direct sunlight and draughts. Offer fresh leafy greens, carrots, squash, or sweet potato to keep them gut-loaded and nutritious right up until feeding time. Remove any uneaten food daily to prevent mould and maintain the health of the remaining worms. Well-maintained livefood delivers significantly better nutrition to your reptile than worms left without food or kept in poor conditions.
Choosing the Right Quantity
Two tub sizes are available on this listing — a smaller option suited to keepers with one or two animals, and a larger tub for those feeding multiple reptiles or using waxworms more regularly. Select the variant that matches your feeding routine so you are not left with surplus stock before the worms are used.
Sourced from farm-bred stock and dispatched with freshness in mind, these waxworms are a straightforward, reliable treat feeder for any reptile keeper's rotation.
