Tropical Shrimp Guard is a dedicated water conditioner formulated for freshwater shrimp and other crustaceans. Whether you're keeping Neocaridina, Caridina, or crayfish, it addresses the specific biological demands that standard dechlorinators overlook — particularly during moulting and acclimatisation.

What It Does

This conditioner neutralises heavy metal salts present in tap water and reduces stress during introduction or water changes. A protective colloid layer shields crustaceans from harmful substances that would otherwise pass through standard conditioning alone, giving shrimp a more stable environment from the moment water hits the tank.

Active Ingredients and Their Roles

• Inositol — supports healthy growth and improves overall vitality
• D-panthenol (provitamin B5) — regulates metabolism and promotes epidermal regeneration, which is especially important during the moulting process
• Protective colloids — form a barrier against harmful tap water contaminants

Dosage

Use 20ml per 100 litres of water. Tropical Shrimp Guard is also suitable for mixed tanks housing both shrimp and fish, making it a practical choice for community setups where crustaceans are present.

Compatibility

For best results, use alongside a dedicated dechlorinator such as Antychlor. The two products complement each other — Antychlor handles chlorine and chloramine removal, while Tropical Shrimp Guard addresses the broader biological and chemical needs of crustaceans.
