Product Information
The Sugar Vine (Cissus striata) is a fast-growing tropical climber well suited to humid vivarium setups. This large specimen arrives ready to establish, bringing glossy green foliage and natural climbing behaviour that works with your enclosure's layout rather than against it.
In the Vivarium
Sugar Vine attaches readily to branches, cork bark, and other décor using its natural tendrils, making it straightforward to train upward and add genuine height to a build. Left to grow freely it produces long trailing stems; pruned back regularly, it takes on a denser, bushier form — giving keepers control over the final look.
Growing Conditions
This species thrives in moist, humid environments and is forgiving enough to cope across a range of light levels. It does best in bright but indirect light, and a short daily period of gentle sun exposure will encourage more vigorous growth. Water when the top third of the substrate has dried out, and feed once a month to promote strong tendril development.
Why It Works for Reptile Enclosures
- Natural climbing tendrils grip décor without requiring additional fixing
- Glossy foliage responds well to pruning — bushy or trailing, your choice
- Tolerates varied light conditions, making placement flexible
- Thrives in the humid conditions typical of tropical reptile setups
- Low-maintenance once established
A reliable, genuinely versatile live plant for keepers looking to add structure and natural cover to a tropical build without the ongoing fuss.
