Dendrobaena worms are a well-established live food for reptile and amphibian keepers. This prepack of 35 small worms is dispatched directly from the breeder, gut-loaded before packing to maximise nutritional value on arrival. High in fat, they work best as a regular treat alongside a varied diet rather than a sole staple — offered once or twice a week, they're a genuinely useful addition to the feeding rotation.

Size and Feeding Use

These worms measure between 50–100mm, making them well suited to medium and larger reptiles and amphibians. Species that take to them readily include Bearded Dragons, Blue Tongue Skinks, New Caledonian Giant Geckos, Pacman Frogs, Box Turtles, and Axolotls. Their size and movement make them an engaging feed that encourages natural foraging behaviour.

Packaging and Delivery

Worms arrive in a sealed, ventilated plastic tub with small air holes along the sides to maintain airflow during transit. The outer packaging is adapted for the season — additional perforations are added in warmer months for cooling, and a heat pack may be included during colder periods to protect the worms in transit.

Keeping Your Worms in Good Condition

Once received, store the worms at room temperature away from direct sunlight and draughts. Continue gut-loading them right up until they are used to maintain their nutritional value:

• Feed fresh leafy greens, carrots, squash, or sweet potato for hydration and nutrients
• Specialist livefood diets can be used to further boost nutritional content
• Remove uneaten food daily to prevent mould and keep the tub clean
• Avoid overcrowding and provide adequate hiding material
