Product Information

Small silent brown crickets are a staple livefood for reptile and amphibian keepers across the UK. Gut-loaded before packing and dispatched directly from the breeder, these pre-packs are aimed at keepers who want a reliable, nutritious feeder insect delivered ready to use. Available in two pack sizes to suit your feeding routine.

Why Silent Crickets

Silent brown crickets are easy for animals to digest, straightforward to catch during feeding, and highly nutritious when kept and fed correctly. Their small size makes them well-suited to hatchlings, juveniles, and smaller species that would struggle with a larger feeder. Gut-loading prior to dispatch means the nutritional content is at its best on arrival.

Suitable Animals

Small silent crickets work well for a wide range of species kept in the vivarium or terrarium. Animals commonly fed on this size include:

  • Baby bearded dragons
  • Baby leopard geckos
  • Baby crested geckos
  • Baby chameleons
  • Tree frogs
  • Small spiders and tarantulas
  • Praying mantis and other insectivorous invertebrates

Packaging and Transit

Crickets arrive in a ventilated plastic tub with egg-box cardboard included. The egg-box increases surface area, giving the insects space to spread out and reducing the risk of overcrowding or trampling in transit. Side air holes maintain airflow while keeping the crickets safely contained. During warmer months, the outer box may carry additional perforations for ventilation; in colder months a heat pack may be included to maintain a suitable temperature during delivery.

Keeping Your Crickets

Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and draughts. To maintain nutritional value between deliveries, continue feeding the crickets fresh leafy greens, carrot, squash, or sweet potato — these provide hydration as well as nutrients. Remove any uneaten food daily to prevent mould or bacterial build-up. Well-maintained crickets are significantly more beneficial to your animal than those left unfed.

Feeding Guidance

As with all livefoods, dusting with an appropriate calcium or vitamin supplement at feeding time is recommended for most reptile species. Remove any uneaten crickets from the vivarium or terrarium after feeding to prevent stress to your animal and maintain enclosure hygiene.

Choose the pack size that best suits your feeding frequency and the number of animals you keep. Keepers with a single juvenile animal may find a smaller pack ideal for reducing waste, while those running multiple enclosures will benefit from the larger option.
