Packaging and Delivery

Locusts arrive in a ventilated plastic tub with egg-box cardboard inserts, which increases surface area and reduces overcrowding during transit. Small air holes along the sides maintain airflow while keeping the insects safely contained. In warmer months, the outer box may carry additional perforations for ventilation; in colder months, a heat pack may be included to protect the insects during delivery.

Keeping Them in Good Condition

Store your locusts in the tub they arrive in, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and cold draughts. Keep the container dry and well-ventilated throughout. Offer fresh leafy greens, carrot, squash, or sweet potato at regular intervals to keep them fed and hydrated — remove any uneaten food daily to prevent mould and maintain cleanliness. Continuing to gut-load right up until feeding maximises the nutritional benefit passed on to your animal.
