Silkworms are a popular and highly nutritious live food for a wide range of reptiles and amphibians. During warmer months, the outer cardboard box may include additional perforations for ventilation; in colder months, a heat pack may be included to protect the livestock during delivery.

Keeping Your Livefood

Store silkworms at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and draughts. Feed them regularly with fresh leafy greens, carrots, squash, or sweet potato to maintain hydration and nutritional value — well-fed feeder insects are significantly more beneficial to your reptile. Remove uneaten food daily to prevent mould and maintain clean conditions.

Silkworms are available in three sizes to match the species and life stage you are keeping. As a general guide, select a size no larger than the width of your animal's head.
