Product Information

Silkworms are a popular and highly nutritious live food for a wide range of reptiles and amphibians. Available in small, medium, and large sizes, they suit everything from juvenile geckos to adult bearded dragons. Gut-loaded before packing and dispatched directly from the breeder, these arrive in the best possible condition and ready to feed.

Nutritional Profile

Silkworms are soft-bodied, easy to catch, and readily taken by most insectivorous and omnivorous species. They have a high fat content relative to some other feeder insects, which makes them an excellent treat or dietary supplement offered once or twice a week rather than a staple. Their palatability makes them particularly useful for encouraging feeding in reluctant animals.

Suitable Species

A useful feeder for a broad range of vivarium inhabitants. Commonly recommended for:

  • Bearded Dragons
  • Leopard Geckos
  • Crested Geckos
  • Blue Tongue Skinks
  • Pacman Frogs and other amphibians

Packaging and Delivery

Silkworms are packed in a sealed, ventilated plastic tub with small air holes along the sides to maintain airflow during transit. During warmer months, the outer cardboard box may include additional perforations for ventilation; in colder months, a heat pack may be included to protect the livestock during delivery.

Keeping Your Livefood

Store silkworms at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and draughts. Feed them regularly with fresh leafy greens, carrots, squash, or sweet potato to maintain hydration and nutritional value — well-fed feeder insects are significantly more beneficial to your reptile. Remove uneaten food daily to prevent mould and maintain clean conditions.

Choosing the Right Size

Silkworms are available in three sizes to match the species and life stage you are keeping. As a general guide, select a size no larger than the width of your animal's head. Smaller sizes suit juveniles and smaller species; larger sizes are appropriate for adult lizards and more robust feeders. Choose your preferred size using the variant selector above.

Sourced from ethical, farm-bred stock and gut-loaded before dispatch, these silkworms give reptile keepers a reliable, high-quality option for varying their animal's diet and supporting long-term health.
