UVB and UVA Output
Zone 4 is rated for extra high UVB output, producing over 12% UVB to support the synthesis of vitamin D3 — essential for calcium metabolism and long-term health in high UV-demanding species. It also emits 30% UVA, which plays a key role in natural behaviour, appetite, and how reptiles perceive their environment.
Colour Rendering
Alongside its UV performance, the Zone 4 produces excellent natural colours, making it easier to observe your animals accurately and giving the enclosure a clean, naturalistic appearance.
Compatibility and Use
This lamp requires a T5 electronic ballast to operate — it will not run on older magnetic or T8 control gear. For best results, pair it with a dedicated T5 luminaire or electronic controller. To maintain consistent UV output, replace the lamp after twelve months of normal use, even if it remains visibly lit.
