Product Information
The Reptile Systems Zone 4 T5 is a high-output UVB lamp designed for reptiles with demanding UV requirements. Available in a range of sizes to suit vivariums of different scales, this tube delivers the intensity needed to support vitamin D3 synthesis and maintain strong, natural colouration in your animals.
UVB and UVA Output
The Zone 4 is rated at over 12% UVB — sufficient output for species that require high UV exposure, such as those from open or arid environments. UVA output reaches 30%, which supports natural behaviour, feeding response, and visual wellbeing in reptiles that perceive UV wavelengths as part of their normal light environment.
Lighting Quality
Beyond UV provision, the Zone 4 produces excellent natural colour rendering. This means animals are displayed under light that closely resembles natural conditions, making it easier to monitor their health, behaviour, and colouration accurately.
Compatibility and Installation
This lamp requires a T5 electronic ballast to operate — it is not compatible with older magnetic or T8 control gear. For best results, use it with a dedicated T5 luminaire or electronic controller. Like all fluorescent UV lamps, it should be replaced after one year of normal use to maintain effective UV output, even if the tube is still producing visible light.
Choosing the Right Size
The Zone 4 T5 is available in multiple lengths, making it straightforward to match the lamp to your enclosure. Select the size that corresponds to your vivarium's length and your chosen luminaire fitting — each variant is listed separately on this page.
