Why Infrared?

The sun emits energy across a broad spectrum: ultraviolet, visible light, and infrared. For reptile keepers, infrared is particularly important because it is the portion of the spectrum responsible for warmth. Near infrared (IR-A, roughly 700–1400nm) and mid infrared (IR-B, roughly 1400–3000nm) both penetrate skin and tissue, contributing directly to thermoregulation, digestion, and natural activity levels in reptiles.
