The Reptile Systems Eco T5 Unit Zone 1 is a complete, ready-to-run T5 fluorescent lighting kit designed for reptiles and amphibians with lower UV requirements. Combining a full-spectrum HO T5 lamp with an electronic ballast and integrated reflector in a single unit, it gives keepers a straightforward, no-compromise lighting solution. Available in four sizes to suit enclosures of different scale, from compact vivaria to larger setups.

Built-in Reflector

The unit features a 103° removable reflector with an uncoated, highly reflective surface. This wide spread angle pushes more usable light and UV down into the enclosure, delivering results that rival larger or more complex systems.

Full-Spectrum UVA and UVB Output

The included HO T5 lamp has been designed to replicate the natural solar spectrum as closely as possible, producing balanced levels of UVA and UVB alongside accurate, natural colour rendering. UVB exposure triggers the photochemical process that allows reptiles to synthesise vitamin D3, which is essential for calcium absorption and the prevention of metabolic bone disease. This process is self-regulating when UV levels are appropriate for the species.

Ferguson Zone 1 — Who It's For

Zone 1 is intended for crepuscular species and those that receive only incidental or low-level sun exposure in the wild. If you're keeping any of the following, this unit is appropriate:

This is particularly important for reptiles, whose high flicker-fusion rates mean they can detect flicker that humans cannot, making flicker-free operation a genuine welfare consideration.
