Who It's For

This formula is well suited to African grey parrots, macaws, and Poicephalus species, and is especially recommended during periods of elevated nutritional demand — young birds, recovering birds, or those showing signs of nutritional deficiency. For species prone to weight gain, including Amazona, Cacatua, Psittacula, and Eclectus, intake should be monitored and restricted accordingly.

Formulation and Fatty Acid Profile

The Omega formula has been developed with specific attention to the ratio of Omega 6 and Omega 3 fatty acids, sourced in part from linseed oil and crude palm oil. The extruded format improves digestibility and palatability, making acceptance straightforward even for birds transitioning from a seed-based diet. Analytical constituents: crude protein 23.5%, crude fat 15.0%, crude fibre 5.1%, crude ash 5.8%.

Feeding Guidelines

Psittacus Omega is formulated to constitute 100% of a parrot's diet, though offering fresh fruit and vegetables alongside it adds valuable variety. When supplementing with fresh foods, this pellet should account for no less than 70–80% of total daily intake — with the exception of Eclectus parrots, which require a higher proportion of fresh sweet fruit. Daily intake typically falls between 5 and 10% of the bird's body weight, and environmental temperature will influence consumption noticeably. Medium-sized species such as the African grey generally consume between 25 and 45g per day.
