Psittacus Cockatoo Special Hand Feeding Formula 5kg

Psittacus Cockatoo Special Hand Feeding is a follow-on rearing formula developed specifically for cockatoo chicks (excluding Probosciger and Calyptorhynchus species) from the point at which feathering begins. Designed for serious aviculturists hand-rearing cockatoos, it provides targeted nutritional support through the critical mid-to-late development phase right through to emancipation.

Stage of Use

This is a follow-on formula, appropriate from the third week of life onwards. For neonates and very young chicks prior to feather emergence, an early-age formula such as a crop milk or neonatal product should be used first. During the weaning phase, this formula should be gradually replaced with a dry adult food rather than withdrawn abruptly.

Feeding Guidelines

Daily intake is typically between 7 and 10 ml of prepared formula per feeding bout, per 100 g of body weight. The number of feeding bouts required each day varies depending on the age of the chick and the specific cockatoo species being reared — keepers should adjust frequency accordingly as the bird matures.
