Psittacus Cockatoo Special Hand Feeding Formula is a follow-on rearing diet developed specifically for cockatoo chicks (excluding Probosciger and Calyptorhynchus species) from the point at which feathering begins. Designed for experienced breeders and aviculturists hand-rearing cockatoos through to independence, this is a species-appropriate formula built around the nutritional demands of developing birds.

When to Use This Formula

This is a follow-on formula, intended for use from the third week of life onwards. For younger chicks in the earliest stages of development, an early-age formula such as a crop milk or neonatal product should be used first. Psittacus Cockatoo Special takes over once feather emergence begins and continues through to emancipation.

Feeding Guidance

Daily intake is typically between 7 and 10 ml of prepared formula per feeding bout, per 100 g of body weight. The number of feeding bouts required each day will vary depending on the age of the chick. During the weaning phase, this formula should be phased out gradually and replaced with an appropriate dry adult diet.
