The ProRep Vivarium range is a modern take on wooden reptile housing, combining a black aluminium frame with lightweight melamine-coated panels. Available in Grey, Oak, and Black wood effects, this 60x45x45cm enclosure is built for keepers who want a durable, well-ventilated setup without the bulk of a traditional all-wood vivarium.

Aluminium Frame Construction

Rather than relying on a fully wooden structure, the ProRep Vivarium uses black aluminium corner posts running along every outer edge of the enclosure. These lock the side and back panels firmly in place, eliminating the risk of panels splitting or wearing over time. This approach also removes the need for large front support plinths, keeping the front profile clean and unobstructed.

Panel Thickness and Weight

The aluminium frame carries the structural load, which means the panels themselves can be thinner and lighter without any loss of rigidity. The bottom panel is 12mm melamine-coated chipboard, the side panels are 6mm, and the top panel is 15mm — in line with the established standard for wooden vivariums, allowing equipment to be screwed directly into the ceiling of the enclosure and held securely. The overall build is noticeably lighter than comparable all-wood alternatives and straightforward to assemble.

Ventilation and Cable Management

• Side-mounted black plastic vents allow the back of the enclosure to sit flush against a wall without restricting airflow.
• A 5mm ventilation lip runs around the top and bottom panels, supporting consistent air circulation throughout.
• Adjustable rear cable management port for clean, flexible equipment routing.
• Hidden screw channels prevent the frame from scratching adjacent surfaces.

Visibility and Access

With no bulky front corner posts required, the sliding glass doors extend from a bottom glass strip all the way to the ceiling of the enclosure, giving an unobstructed view of the interior. A black runner houses the sliding doors, which are secured with a plastic door latch. The front profile is particularly effective when the enclosure is fully decorated.
