ProRep Hemp Bedding

ProRep Hemp Bedding is a natural, fibrous substrate made from the dried, chopped stems of the hemp plant. Suitable for a wide range of snakes, tortoises, and small mammals, it is available in multiple sizes to suit enclosures of different scale — from smaller vivarium setups through to larger collections requiring bulk quantities.

What It's Made From

Produced from the dried stem of the hemp plant, this substrate is highly absorbent, dust-free, and odourless. Being completely biodegradable, it is safe if accidentally ingested — a meaningful reassurance for keepers of burrowing or curious species.

Recommended Depth and Spot-Cleaning

Spread the substrate evenly across the floor of the enclosure to a minimum depth of 1–2 inches (2.5–5cm). Spot-clean daily, and replace the full substrate every two to three weeks, or sooner if it becomes heavily soiled or wet.

Using With Heat Mats

If an under-tank heat mat is your primary heat source, avoid applying a thick layer of this substrate directly above it. A deep layer can restrict heat dissipation and cause the mat to overheat — always follow the heat mat manufacturer's guidance on minimum substrate depth.
