The ProRep Basking Flood Lamp is a broad-beam basking lamp developed specifically for reptile enclosures. It produces visible light, UVA, and heat in the form of short-wave infrared — covering a wider basking area than a narrow spot, making it well suited to enclosures where you want a more diffuse but still directed heat and light zone. What It Does

The built-in reflector focuses light and heat downward into the basking area, supporting the natural thermoregulatory behaviour of diurnal reptile species. The flood beam spreads that energy across a broader footprint than a conventional spot lamp, which can be particularly useful for larger enclosures or species that bask over a wider surface area. Heat output also contributes to overall ambient enclosure temperature.

Thermal Gradient and Positioning

Position the lamp directly above the basking site, mounted approximately one third from one end of the enclosure. This placement creates a distinct warm zone at one end and a cooler retreat at the other — essential for healthy thermoregulation. Using It Safely
