ProRep Aspen Bedding

ProRep Aspen Bedding is a natural loose substrate suited to snakes, many lizards, birds, and small mammals. Shredded from sustainably sourced wood, it offers a clean, odourless base layer that supports burrowing behaviour and keeps enclosures manageable day to day. Available in multiple sizes to suit everything from a single corn snake setup to a larger collection.

What It's Made From

This substrate is produced from non-toxic shredded wood taken from sustainable forests. It is soft underfoot, virtually dust-free, and carries no odour — making it a practical choice for both the animal and the keeper.

Absorbency and Hygiene

ProRep Aspen Bedding is highly absorbent, drawing moisture away from the surface to help maintain a drier, more hygienic enclosure floor. For routine maintenance, spot-clean daily and replace the substrate fully every two to three weeks — or sooner if it becomes heavily soiled or wet.

How to Use It

• Spread evenly across the enclosure floor to a depth of at least 2.5–5cm (1–2 inches)
• Spot-clean daily to remove waste and damp patches
• Carry out a full substrate change every two to three weeks under normal conditions
• If using an under-tank heat mat, avoid laying a thick layer directly over it — refer to your heat mat manufacturer's guidance to prevent overheating
