ProRep Silkworm Chow is a fortified mulberry-based food designed to sustain silkworms in captivity. Silkworms are highly specialised feeders — in nature, they rely entirely on White Mulberry (Morus alba) leaves for both nutrition and hydration. This chow replicates that nutritional profile using powdered mulberry leaves, enhanced with added vitamins and minerals to keep colonies well-nourished between feeds.

What It's Made From

The formula centres on powdered White Mulberry leaf (Morus alba), the sole natural food source of silkworms. Vitamins and minerals have been incorporated to compensate for any variance in nutritional completeness, supporting the health of these soft-bodied larvae throughout the feeding period.

Preparing the Chow

The powder must be mixed with water before use — one part powder to three parts water. Bring the mixture to a boil to activate the gelling agent fully, then allow it to cool to room temperature. Once set, the chow takes on a rubbery gel consistency that can be broken into pieces and placed directly into the silkworm tub.

Feeding Guidelines

• Feed silkworms once every two to three days
• As little as 1g of powder per feed, per tub is sufficient
• Only offer what the silkworms will consume — remove any uneaten gel promptly
• Expect increased waste output when the silkworms are actively feeding; clean the tub regularly if housing them for several days
