Product Information

Devil's Ivy, known botanically as Epipremnum aureum, is one of the most reliable live plants you can introduce to a tropical vivarium. This moss pole-trained specimen brings immediate height and structure to your build, giving arboreal and semi-arboreal species something genuinely useful to climb, rest on, and hide behind — not just a decorative addition.

Why Devil's Ivy Works in a Vivarium

Devil's Ivy is a robust, fast-growing climber that tolerates the humidity and temperature ranges typical of tropical reptile and amphibian enclosures. Its broad, waxy leaves hold up well under misting and basking lamp heat, and the plant actively contributes to vivarium humidity and air quality. It is a proven choice for keepers housing species such as day geckos, crested geckos, anoles, and dart frogs.

Moss Pole Format

This plant is supplied already trained and established on a moss pole, meaning it arrives with vertical structure ready to place directly into your build. The moss pole encourages natural upward growth and provides additional grip and micro-humidity along its surface — beneficial both for the plant's root development and for species that like to climb or perch.

Vivarium Planting Notes

  • Suited to tropical vivarium setups with moderate to high humidity
  • Compatible with bioactive substrate systems
  • Grows well under standard vivarium lighting — no specialist plant lighting required
  • Can be trimmed regularly to manage size and encourage bushier growth
  • Non-aggressive root system — will not rapidly destabilise hardscape

Supplied as a live plant, specimens will vary slightly in size and appearance. As with all live vivarium plants, acclimatise to your enclosure conditions gradually and inspect on arrival as standard good practice.
