ProRep Beardie Feed Mini Kit – Grow-Your-Own Reptile Greens

The PR Beardie Feed Mini Kit is a grow-your-own feeding kit designed for bearded dragons and other herbivorous or omnivorous reptiles. It produces a fresh, living supply of nutrient-rich weeds and edible plants directly from your own home, reducing dependence on shop-bought greens and eliminating the uncertainty that comes with foraging wild plants.

What's in the Kit

Each kit includes a peat-free compost and a herbivore seed mix, supplied with a tray fitted with drainage holes. Everything you need to get growing is included — no additional equipment required to start your first tray.

The Seed Mix

The seed blend has been selected specifically for herbivorous and omnivorous reptiles, combining a wide range of nutritious plant species to support dietary variety:

• White clover, crimson clover, red clover
• Vetch, hawkbit, nipplewort
• Dandelion, plantain, shepherd's purse
• Sainfoin, hedge mustard

Why Grow Your Own

Commercially sourced greens can carry pesticide residues, while wild-foraged plants introduce the risk of contamination or misidentification. Growing from a curated seed mix gives you full control over what your reptile is eating. The variety of species also encourages natural grazing behaviour, keeping feeding time engaging and nutritionally broad.

How to Use It

Fill the tray with compost, sow seeds evenly across the surface, cover lightly and water thoroughly. Place in a warm, well-lit spot and keep the compost consistently moist. Seeds germinate in 7–14 days. Once established, harvest leaves by cutting above soil level — this encourages continued regrowth rather than exhausting the tray in a single feed.
