Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum sp.)

The ProRep Peace Lily is a medium-sized live tropical plant selected specifically for terrarium and vivarium use. It is part of ProRep's curated range of species chosen for their suitability in reptile and amphibian enclosures — not simply repackaged garden centre stock.

Why Live Plants in a Vivarium

Bioactive and planted terrariums have become a serious part of reptile keeping, and for good reason. Live plants provide natural cover, climbing structure, shade, and basking spots while actively helping to maintain ambient humidity. The effect on animal well-being mirrors what studies have shown for humans sharing space with plants — a more natural environment supports more natural behaviour.

Choosing the Right Plant Matters

Not every houseplant is appropriate for terrarium life. Many grow far too large over time, overwhelming an enclosure that they appeared suited to when small. ProRep's range has been selected with this specifically in mind — species that remain manageable and thrive under terrarium conditions rather than outgrowing them.

About the Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum)

The Peace Lily is well suited to warm, humid enclosures with consistently moist substrate. It grows in clumping, upright foliage that works well as a background plant, and its dark, glossy leaves complement other tropical foliage species. Crucially, it tolerates both shaded and brighter lit positions, making it a versatile choice across different terrarium layouts.

For keepers building out a planted or bioactive setup, the ProRep Peace Lily is a practical, habitat-appropriate choice that pulls its weight both visually and functionally.
