The MistKing Starter Misting System v5.0 is a compact, reliable automated misting kit built for reptile and amphibian keepers who need consistent humidity control without complexity. It runs straight out of the box on a single nozzle and can be expanded to support up to 10 nozzles as your setup grows — making it a capable starting point for vivarium and terrarium misting, whether you're keeping tropical reptiles, amphibians, or humidity-dependent exotic species.

What's in the kit

• 24V DC misting pump — capable of running up to 10 nozzles, with vibration-dampening rubber feet and adapted for 1/4" tubing. Can run dry without damage.
• Pump power adapter (cUL listed)
• 1x Value L misting assembly — includes a super low-flow, check-valved spray tip producing an average droplet size of approximately 50 microns. Check valve significantly reduces post-mist drip. Nozzle is adjustable in any direction and can be securely mounted to surfaces up to 1.5cm (5/8") thick. Patented assembly.
• Reservoir bulkhead with O-ring and plug
• 15 feet of 1/4" black opaque tubing
• Digital Seconds Timer ST-24 with instructions

The pump

The 24V DC pump at the heart of this system is custom-manufactured exclusively for MistKing and is not an off-the-shelf unit. It has been extensively field- and factory-tested for long-term reliability, with notably low failure rates. Its dry-run capability means a momentary lack of water won't cause pump damage — a meaningful safeguard in an automated vivarium setup.

The misting nozzle

The included Value L misting assembly produces fine droplets at around 50 microns, delivering effective humidity without excessive saturation. The integrated check valve reduces dripping after each misting cycle, keeping enclosure surfaces and substrate from becoming waterlogged. The nozzle can be repositioned freely and locked securely to vivarium panels, mesh frames, or enclosure walls up to 1.5cm thick.

Timer control

The Digital Seconds Timer ST-24 gives precise control over misting duration and frequency, letting you dial in schedules that reflect the natural humidity cycles of your animals' environment. This level of control is particularly important for species with specific peak-humidity windows or where over-misting can cause respiratory or skin issues.

Expandable and adaptable

The Starter System supports up to 10 nozzles on the included pump, making it straightforward to expand coverage as you add enclosures or increase enclosure size. For setups requiring more than 10 nozzles, a pump upgrade or a higher-tier MistKing system would be required. Note: a reservoir is not included with this kit and will need to be sourced separately.
