The Microclimate Pulse B2 HT Black 600W (HiTemp) is a pulse proportional thermostat designed for precise control of non-light-emitting heat sources in vivarium setups. Rather than switching power on and off in full cycles, it pulses the supply to the heat source continuously, maintaining stable temperatures with a level of accuracy that simple on/off stats cannot match. If you're running ceramic heat emitters, heat mats, or heat cables at the higher end of the temperature range, this is the thermostat built for the job.
How Pulse Control Works
Pulse proportional technology modulates the power delivered to your heater rather than cutting it completely — the result is a steady, accurate temperature inside the vivarium rather than cyclical spikes and drops. This method is not suitable for light-emitting heat sources such as incandescent or halogen bulbs, as the pulsing would cause visible flickering. For ceramics and other non-light heat sources, it is the preferred control method.
