The Microclimate Pulse B2 HT is a pulse proportional thermostat designed for non-light-emitting heat sources up to 600W, with a high-temperature range built specifically for keepers working with species that require elevated basking conditions. Using microprocessor-controlled pulse technology, it delivers precise, stable heat regulation inside the vivarium — making it a reliable choice for ceramic heat emitters, heat mats, and similar heat-only equipment.
How Pulse Proportional Control Works
Rather than switching a heater fully on and off like a simple on/off thermostat, a pulse proportional unit rapidly pulses power to the heat source, fine-tuning output to maintain the target temperature with accuracy. This method is not compatible with light-emitting heat sources — the rapid pulsing will cause bulbs to flash visibly — so this thermostat should only be paired with non-light-emitting heating equipment.
