Why Silent Crickets

Silent brown crickets are low-odour, easy to catch in a vivarium, and highly digestible — making them well suited to regular or daily feeding. At medium/small size, they are appropriate for juveniles and smaller animals that cannot yet handle a full-sized feeder insect. Their nutritional profile makes them a reliable backbone of an insectivorous diet rather than an occasional treat.

Packaging and Transit

Crickets are packed in a ventilated plastic tub with egg-box cardboard inserts. The cardboard increases surface area, reduces overcrowding, and gives the insects space to spread out during transit. Small air holes along the tub sides maintain airflow while keeping the crickets securely contained. During colder months a heat pack may be included to maintain a safe temperature in transit; during warmer months additional perforations in the outer box help with cooling.

Keeping Your Crickets in Good Condition

To maintain nutritional quality between delivery and feeding, keep the crickets at room temperature away from direct sunlight and draughts. Continue gut-loading them with fresh leafy greens, carrot, squash, or sweet potato right up until use — well-fed feeder insects pass significantly more nutrition on to your reptile or invertebrate. Remove any uneaten food daily to prevent mould build-up inside the tub.

The 1000 bag is better suited to keepers running multiple enclosures or feeding larger groups of juveniles.
