Live Tubifex are small, nutrient-dense aquatic worms and a well-established live food for a range of aquatic animals. Supplied in a 100ml portion, they are suited to keepers feeding axolotls, turtles, large fish, and aquatic frogs who want a natural, high-movement food source that actively stimulates feeding behaviour.

Source and Nutrition

These Tubifex are farm-bred under controlled conditions and dispatched directly from the breeder. They are pre-fed before packing to ensure they arrive in the best nutritional condition possible, giving your animal the full benefit of a live prey item from the moment you open the bag.

Packaging and Transit

The Tubifex are sealed in a plastic bag with 100ml of water to keep them safe during transit. In warmer months the outer box may include additional ventilation; in colder months a heat pack may be included to maintain a suitable temperature throughout the journey.

Storage and Use

• Can be stored in the fridge for 5–7 days in the sealed packet
• Once opened, use immediately — do not reseal for later feeding
• Use a sieve to separate the live worms from the water before feeding
• Remove any uneaten food from the enclosure daily to prevent decay and maintain water quality

Keeping Your Live Food in Good Condition

Store Live Tubifex at chilled temperatures, away from direct sunlight and draughts. Proper storage between delivery and feeding preserves nutritional quality and keeps the worms active and viable.
