Sourcing & Nutritional Preparation

These river shrimp are farm-bred under ethical conditions and sent straight from the breeder to your door. Pre-feeding prior to packing ensures that the nutritional content of each shrimp is as high as possible on arrival, a practice known as gut-loading that directly benefits the animals being fed.

Packaging & Transit

Live River Shrimp are sealed in a plastic bag with 100ml of water to keep them safe during transit. Seasonal adjustments are made to the outer packaging: additional ventilation perforations are used during warmer months, and a heat pack may be included during colder periods to maintain a suitable temperature throughout the journey.

Feeding & Storage

Unopened, the sealed packet can be stored in a refrigerator for 5 to 7 days. Once opened, use the contents immediately. Use a sieve to separate the shrimp from the water before feeding, and remove any uneaten shrimp from the enclosure daily to prevent decay and maintain water quality.

Care of Livefood

Store Live River Shrimp at chilled temperatures away from direct sunlight and draughts. Correct storage between delivery and feeding preserves nutritional quality and keeps the shrimp in good condition for your animals.
