Product Information

Live Daphnia are a natural, highly nutritious livefood suitable for a range of aquatic animals. Supplied in a 100ml quantity, they are dispatched directly from the breeder and pre-fed before packing to maximise their nutritional value on arrival.

Suitable Animals

Live Daphnia are well suited to the following:

  • Axolotls
  • Turtles and aquatic turtles
  • Large fish
  • Aquatic frogs

Sourcing and Quality

These Daphnia are farm-bred under ethical conditions and sent straight from the breeder to your door. Pre-feeding before dispatch means your animals are getting live food at its most nutritious when it arrives.

Packaging and Transit

Daphnia arrive in a sealed plastic bag containing 100ml of water to keep them viable during transit. During warmer months, the outer cardboard box may include additional ventilation perforations; during colder months, a heat pack may be included to maintain a safe temperature in transit.

Storage and Feeding

Unopened, Live Daphnia can be kept refrigerated for 5–7 days. Once the bag is opened, use the contents immediately.

  • Use a fine sieve to separate the live Daphnia from the transport water before feeding
  • Remove any uneaten Daphnia from the enclosure daily to prevent decay and maintain water quality
  • Store away from direct sunlight and draughts prior to use

Freshness Guarantee

Viperia dispatches live food five days a week using fast, reliable couriers, with orders packed on the day of dispatch. If your Live Daphnia arrive in poor condition or there is a quality issue, contact our team and we will resolve it promptly.

For keepers of axolotls, turtles, and aquatic frogs, Live Daphnia are a practical, natural food source that supports healthy digestion and active feeding behaviour.
