Live Copepods are a nutritious, naturally occurring aquatic livefood suited to a range of freshwater and semi-aquatic species. Supplied in a 100ml volume and dispatched directly from the breeder, these are pre-fed before packing to maximise their nutritional value on arrival.

What They're Used For

Copepods are a staple livefood for many aquatic keepers. At Viperia, we use them to feed axolotls, turtles, large fish, and aquatic frogs. They are small, easy for animals to catch, and provide genuine nutritional benefit as part of a varied diet.

Packaging and Transit

Copepods arrive sealed in a plastic bag containing 100ml of water. During warmer months, the outer box may be perforated to aid ventilation; in colder months, a heat pack may be included to maintain a safe temperature during transit.

Feeding and Storage

Unopened, the sealed packet can be stored in the fridge for 5 to 7 days. Once opened, use the contents immediately. Sieve the copepods to separate them from the water before feeding, and remove any uneaten food daily to keep the enclosure clean and prevent water quality issues.

Care While Holding

Keep copepods chilled and away from direct sunlight or draughts while in storage. Maintaining the correct conditions between delivery and feeding ensures the animals receive maximum nutritional benefit.
