Fish Science Large Carnivore Diet is a sinking pellet food formulated specifically for large predatory freshwater fish — oscars, rays, and catfish among them. Built around an insect-led ingredient base, it mirrors the natural prey diet these fish are adapted to consume, rather than relying on generic fishmeal filler.

Insect-Based Formula

The diet centres on mealworm meal and earthworm flour alongside herring meal, giving carnivorous species the high-quality animal protein their physiology demands. This combination more closely reflects what these fish would encounter in the wild than conventional pellet foods.

Natural Colour Enhancement

Spirulina powder and dried kelp are included not as additives but as whole food ingredients that support natural pigmentation from within. No synthetic colour enhancers — just ingredients that do the job properly.

Immune System Support

The formula is reinforced with garlic, Beta Glucans, and polyphenols — a combination chosen to support immune function and general resilience. Vitamins A, D3, E, and C are included at specific supplemented levels, alongside L-lysine and DL-Methionine to ensure the amino acid profile is complete.

Feeding Guide

Feed two to three times daily, offering only as much as your fish will consume within one minute. Remove any uneaten pellets promptly to maintain water quality.
