Product Information
A purpose-formulated sinking pellet diet for axolotls, built around the insect-based nutrition these animals rely on in the wild. Available in two sizes to suit single-animal setups through to larger collections.
Insect-Led Formula
The ingredient list leads with Black Soldier Fly and Mealworm, mirroring the natural prey axolotls consume in their native Mexican lake habitat. Herring meal and salmon oil provide additional high-quality protein and lipid sources, while pea, yeast, kelp, and carrot round out the nutritional profile with plant-based support.
Pellet Specification
- 4mm slowly sinking pellets — suited to the axolotl's bottom-feeding behaviour
- High protein formula: 47% protein, 11% oil, 3% fibre, 3.5% moisture, 4% ash
- Contains Kelp and Haematococcus pluvialis as a natural astaxanthin source
- Fortified with Vitamins A, D3, C, and E, plus amino acids L-lysine and DL-Methionine
Natural Colour Support
Haematococcus pluvialis is included as a natural source of astaxanthin, a carotenoid found in the diets of many aquatic animals. Kelp provides natural iodine and trace mineral support alongside it.
Feeding Guidelines
Suitable for axolotls at all life stages. Juveniles up to six months old can be fed once daily — offer as much as they will consume within 15 minutes and remove any uneaten pellets promptly. Adults aged six months and over should be fed three to five pellets per animal every other day, again with uneaten food removed after feeding.
Full Composition
Insect meal (Black Soldier Fly, Mealworm), Herring meal, Whole wheat, Wheat germ, Salmon oil, Pea, Yeast, Kelp, Carrot, Haematococcus pluvialis, Tocopherol, Rosemary. Additives include Vitamin A 19,000 IU/kg, Vitamin D3 1,055 IU/kg, Vitamin C 315mg/kg, Vitamin E 75mg/kg, L-lysine monohydrochloride 480mg/kg, DL-Methionine 480mg/kg, Tocopherol 30mg/kg, and Rosemary 22mg/kg.
Choose the tub size that suits your collection — a smaller option works well for single animals or as a trial, while the larger size suits keepers with multiple axolotls or those who prefer to stock up less frequently.
