How It's Made
The substrate is heat-treated during production to reduce bacterial contamination and increase absorbency. This process also results in a dust-free material that is exceptionally soft underfoot — an important consideration for sensitive species and newly hatched animals.
Burrowing and Natural Behaviour
The wood fibre has a texture that allows reptiles to pack and shape it into firm, stable burrows. This mimics the kind of sheltered retreats snakes seek out in the wild, giving captive animals a meaningful outlet for natural behaviour rather than just a flat surface to rest on.

How to Use
Start with a disinfected, dry enclosure. Spread an even layer across the base — a minimum depth of 2.5 cm is recommended to allow burrowing. Remove reptiles from the enclosure during feeding to prevent accidental ingestion of substrate.
