How It Works

This substrate forms the base drainage layer of a layered terrarium setup. Water passes freely through the decorative top substrate and into this lower layer, preventing waterlogging and maintaining healthy conditions for both the animal and any live plants above. Because it is non-organic, it will not decompose or contaminate the water sitting within it.

Biological Filtration
