Exo Terra Desert Sand Red 4.5Kg

Exo Terra Desert Sand in Red is a natural desert substrate for arid and semi-arid vivarium setups. Free from added dyes and chemicals, this is real sand — sifted to remove impurities and graded to a consistent grain size, making it a reliable choice for keepers who want a naturalistic desert environment without compromise.

Natural Composition

This sand contains no artificial colourants or chemical additives. The red colouration is inherent to the sand itself, giving your terrarium an authentic desert appearance that complements arid-dwelling species.

Substrate Performance

• Sifted to remove impurities and achieve a uniform grain size
• Conducts heat effectively, supporting under-substrate warmth distribution
• Encourages natural digging and burrowing behaviour in species that exhibit it
• Suitable for use as an egg-laying substrate

Vivarium Application

Well suited to desert and savannah-style terrariums housing species such as bearded dragons, uromastyx, leopard geckos, and similar arid reptiles. The consistent grain size also makes it straightforward to spot-clean and maintain.

At 4.5kg, this bag provides a practical quantity for most vivarium setups, giving keepers a substrate that looks the part and functions well beneath basking and ambient heat sources.
