Edible Snails

Live edible snails are a nutritious, natural treat for a wide range of insectivorous and omnivorous reptiles and amphibians. Why Feed Snails?

Snails offer something different from standard livefood — a hard outer shell that provides enrichment and a challenge for larger, more capable feeders, followed by soft, digestible flesh inside. They are highly nutritious and work well as an occasional addition to a varied diet rather than a staple. Species that particularly benefit include bearded dragons, blue-tongue skinks, frilled dragons, water dragons, and turtles.

Sourcing and Gut-Loading

These snails are farm-bred under ethical conditions and sent straight from the breeder, minimising transit time and keeping them in the best possible condition. Before packing, they are gut-loaded — fed a nutritious diet — so that your reptile benefits from everything the snail has consumed, not just the snail itself.

Packaging

Snails arrive in a ventilated plastic tub with egg-box cardboard inside to increase surface area and reduce the risk of overcrowding during transit. Small air holes along the sides maintain airflow while keeping everything securely contained. Seasonal adjustments are made to packaging: additional perforations may be added during warmer months, and a heat pack may be included in colder months to maintain a safe temperature throughout the journey.

Keeping Them at Home

Store snails at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and draughts. Feed them regularly on fresh leafy greens, carrots, squash, or sweet potato to keep them hydrated, active, and as nutritious as possible right up to feeding time. Remove uneaten food daily to prevent mould and maintain a clean environment.
