Airplant - Tillandsia caput-medusae

The ProRep Airplant Medium Caput Medusae is a live tillandsia suitable for use in bioactive vivariums, terrariums, and display setups. Its distinctive, octopus-like form makes it a genuinely striking addition to any enclosure, and because it requires no soil, it can be placed, mounted, or wedged into décor with minimal effort.

Light Requirements

Caput Medusae thrives in bright, indirect light. Position it near a window with filtered sunlight, or place it under fluorescent or LED grow lights within the vivarium. Avoid prolonged direct exposure to intense heat sources, which can scorch the leaves.

Watering

Mist the plant several times a week, or soak it in rainwater for around 20–30 minutes once a week. After soaking, shake it gently to remove any water sitting in the base of the leaves — retained moisture can cause rot if left unchecked.

Temperature and Environment

Keep this plant in a draft-free environment at a minimum of 8°C. It is well suited to the warm, stable conditions found in most tropical reptile and amphibian enclosures.
