How to Use the Viperia Vivarium Calculator

The Viperia Vivarium Calculator does one job. It works out the price of a custom-built Vivarium from the dimensions you enter. You tell it the size you want, choose a few build options, and it gives you a price for that exact enclosure.

There is no fixed range to pick from and no guesswork. You design the Vivarium you need, and the calculator prices it. This guide walks through the page from top to bottom, so you know what each field does and how it feeds into your price. You can find the tool on the Vivarium Calculator page.

 

How It Works

The idea is simple. Your dimensions drive the price. When you enter the length, depth, and height of the Vivarium you want, the calculator uses those measurements to work out the cost.

On top of the size, you can choose a handful of build options, the material, the door, and the top. These set how your Vivarium is finished and fitted, and they form part of the same custom build. Once your size and options are in, the calculator gives you a full price for the enclosure, with VAT shown separately, ready to order.

 

Before You Start

You only really need one thing ready, and that is your measurements. Work out the length, depth and height you want in centimetres before you open the calculator.

If you are not sure what size suits your reptile, our advice team can help you settle on sensible dimensions first. A ground-dwelling species needs floor space, while a climber needs height, so it helps to know the details before you price it up.

 

Step 1: Open the Calculator

Head to the vivarium calculator page. At the top you will see two tabs, Vivarium Details and Your Quote. You start on Vivarium Details, where you set the size and options, and work down the page. Your Quote tab holds your price, and it fills in once you have entered your details and asked for a quote.

 

Step 2: Enter Your Dimensions

This is the part that drives everything. There are three boxes, and you enter one measurement in each. All these are in centimetres.

·       Length (cm). the width of the enclosure, measures left to right across the front.

·       Depth (cm). How far back it goes, measured front to back.

·       Height (cm). Top to bottom.

These three numbers are what the calculator prices for. The bigger the Vivarium, the more it costs to build, so your measurements are the single biggest factor in the figure you get back. Once all three boxes hold a valid number, a 3D preview of your Vivarium also appears on the page, built from your figures, so you can check the proportions look right before you go any further.

It is worth taking your time here. Getting the dimensions right first means the price you see is the price for the enclosure you actually want.

 

Step 3: Choose Your Material

Under material, pick the finish for the body of your Vivarium.

·       Black PVC

·       White PVC

Both are the same high-grade PVC we build every enclosure from, so this is about the look you want rather than the quality of the build. Black gives a clean, recessed feel that makes the animal and the décor stand out. White keeps things bright and shows the space off. Pick whichever suits the room the Vivarium is going in or whichever you prefer!

 

Step 4: Choose Your Door Option

Under Door Option, choose how the front of your Vivarium opens.

·       Hinged Glass. Glass doors that swing open on a hinge.

·       Sliding Glass. Glass doors that slide across on a track.

This choice mainly comes down to the space in front of the Vivarium and how you like to work inside it. Hinged doors open wide for a clear reach when you are cleaning or handling. Sliding doors need no room in front, which helps in a tight spot. Either way you get a full glass front to view your reptile.

 

Step 5: Choose Your Top Option

Under Top Option, choose what sits across the top of the enclosure.

·       Mesh. An open, ventilated top that lets more air move through and lets overhead lighting and UVB pass into the space. This suits species that need airflow and a basking gradient.

·       Solid. A closed top that holds heat and humidity inside. This suits species that need a warmer, more stable environment.

This is the option most worth getting right for your particular reptile. If you are not certain which way to go, our advice team can talk it through with you before you order.

 

Step 6: Add Your Email and Any Notes

When you enter your email, the calculator will send your quote through, and we can stay in touch with you about your order.

Use the Additional Notes box for anything the standard options do not cover. A custom request, a question about the build, or a particular setup you have in mind. Whatever you type comes through with your quote, so the more you tell us the better we can help.

 

Step 7: Set your quantity

The Quantity field tells the calculator how many Vivarium you would like. Leave it at one for a single build or increase it for matching enclosures. Quantity feeds into the price, so the figure you see reflects the number you set.

 

Step 8: Get Your Price

When your size, options and details are in, select Get Quote. The calculator takes your dimensions and options, works the cost of that custom build, and shows you the result on the Your Quote Tab.

The price is itemised, with the subtotal, the VAT amount on its own line, and the total, so it is clear exactly what you are paying. There are no hidden extras. If the figure is higher or lower than you hoped, select Back, adjust your dimensions or options, and get your quote again because the price is worked out from your size.

It is important to note that a custom build will come out more expensive than our standard range due to the extra design and time taken to produce.

 

Step 9: Add to basket or Buy Now

Once the price looks right, the Your Quote tab gives you two ways to go ahead.

·       Add to Basket puts your custom vivarium in the basket so you can keep browsing or come back and check out later.

·       Buy Now takes you straight to checkout for this enclosure on its own.

Either way, the Vivarium that goes through is the exact one you designed and priced. Once the order reaches us, we start building it.

 

Getting the Size Right

Since the price is worked out from your dimensions, the size you enter is the most important decision you make. A few principles help.

·       Floor space matters most for ground-dwelling reptiles that roam and forage.

·       Height matters most for arboreal species that climb.

·       Bigger is usually better for the animal, as long as you can still create a proper temperature and humidity gradient across the space.

 

What happens next

Once your order is in, we build your Vivarium to the size and spec you set. Every enclosure is made from the same high-grade PVC and finished to the standard we hold across the range. If you added notes or a custom request, we will be in touch if we need to check anything.
