The PR Terrascaping Texturing Compound is a powdered modelling material designed for keepers building naturalistic vivarium or terrarium backgrounds. It forms the second stage of the Terrascaping build process, giving your foam or block structure a convincing rock or wood texture before sealing and finishing.

How It Fits Into the Build Process

Naturalistic vivarium construction typically follows three stages: build a basic structure using polystyrene, Celkon block, or expanding foam; apply this texturing compound to create a realistic surface; then seal and colour with Terrascaping Sealing Resin and Resin Colour Pigment (both sold separately). This compound handles that critical middle stage — turning a rough foam shape into something that genuinely looks like it belongs in the wild.

Mixing and Application

The compound comes as a powder that you mix with water to form a workable paste. Once mixed, it spreads directly over your base structure and can be modelled and shaped to replicate the appearance of rock faces, bark, or other natural surfaces. It sets to a textured finish that provides a sound base for the sealing stage.
