The Microclimate EVO Connected Pro is a three-channel, cloud-connected thermostat designed for reptile keepers who want precise environmental control across multiple enclosures — and the ability to monitor and adjust everything remotely. With Wi-Fi connectivity, a capacitive touchscreen display, independent sensors on every channel, and a feature set that extends to seasonal programming and ramp times, this is a serious piece of kit for serious keepers.

A New Display Standard

The EVO Connected Pro uses an all-new capacitive touch panel with a smooth, all-glass front and gloss black bezel. Response times are fast and the interface is clean — it sits neatly on the front of any vivarium setup without looking out of place. A single cable runs from the main control box to the display unit, keeping wiring tidy and contained. Mounting solutions are built directly into both the display unit and the main control box.

Three Channels, Full Sensor Coverage

Each of the three channels has its own IP-rated temperature sensor, active regardless of whether that channel is controlling heating or lighting. The channel configuration is as follows:

  • Channel 1: Dimming Pulse — for ceramic heat emitters, basking bulbs, and compatible heat sources requiring variable output
  • Channel 2: On/Off — standard switching control for heating or lighting equipment
  • Channel 3: On/Off with Humidity Sensor — adds humidity monitoring to environmental data logging

Having a sensor on every channel means you can log temperature data across the full gradient of an enclosure — for example, placing the main probe at the basking spot while Channel 2's sensor monitors the cool end simultaneously.

App and Web Control

The EVO Connected Pro pairs with the Microclimate EVO Connected app, available on iOS and Android, and is also accessible via a web dashboard. A Wi-Fi connection to the thermostat is required. From the app you can monitor and control the unit from anywhere, add multiple thermostats to a single account, and mix different EVO Connected models within one app interface. Real-time data shown includes current channel temperatures, active set points, and power output status per channel. Temperature history graphs are available with up to one year of data. You can also share access with other users — family members, colleagues, or collection co-owners — with configurable permission levels.

Menu System and Channel Customisation

The on-screen menu structure follows the same layout as the previous EVO generation, so existing EVO users can get straight to work without relearning the interface. The temperature history graph remains accessible directly from the touchscreen. Within the app and on-device menus, each channel can be individually named, colour-coded for quick identification, and configured for Heating, Cooling, or Fixed control. Channels can also be switched between Dimming and Pulse control types depending on the connected equipment.

Ramp Time and Timing Modes

Ramp time allows the thermostat to transition between set points gradually rather than abruptly — particularly useful when moving from a lower night temperature to a higher daytime temperature. The transition period can be set across one or two hours, creating a far more natural thermal shift for the animal. Timing modes give further control over the daily and seasonal cycle:

  • Constant: a single temperature or output level maintained around the clock
  • Day and Night: two separate settings for daytime and night-time periods
  • Multi: up to eight different settings across a 24-hour period
  • Seasons mode: year-round environmental programming that adjusts automatically across seasons

The Microclimate EVO Connected Pro gives keepers a level of environmental oversight that goes well beyond basic thermostat function — from granular daily programming through to remote monitoring of an entire collection, with the data logging and sensor coverage to back it up.
