Exo Terra Snake Starter Accessory Kit

The Exo Terra Snake Starter Accessory Kit brings together the core equipment needed to get a snake enclosure up and running properly — lighting, UV, heating, temperature monitoring, substrate, and hides all in one package. It is suited to both first-time snake keepers and experienced hobbyists setting up a new vivarium, and is recommended for use with enclosures from 75 to 120cm in length, such as Vivexotic ReptiHome vivariums (not included).

Lighting and UV

The T5 UVB fixture and UVB100 bulb provide appropriate ultraviolet output for snakes kept under natural-style lighting regimes. The 75W daylight spot bulb handles basking and ambient light during daytime hours, supporting a proper photoperiod for the animal.

Heating and Temperature Control

The 300W thermostat keeps heating equipment within safe and consistent parameters, working alongside the daylight spot and heat guard to protect both animal and keeper. The infrared thermometer allows quick, accurate spot-checking of surface temperatures across the enclosure without disturbing the snake. For a full day/night cycle, supplementing this kit with a ceramic heater, deep heat projector, or heat mat for overnight use is recommended.

Hides, Substrate, and Feeding

Two reptile caves give the snake secure retreat options at both the warm and cool ends of the enclosure — essential for reducing stress and encouraging natural behaviour. Exo Terra Snake Bedding and a water dish complete the habitat setup, while the feeding tweezers allow safe, hygienic prey presentation.

Used together, the components in this kit cover the fundamentals of snake keeping so that the enclosure is functional, safe, and appropriately furnished from the outset. Housing is not included.
