ABOUT THIS SPECIES

White’s Tree Frogs are chunky, arboreal hylids best known for their big toe pads, “sleepy” expression, and the fleshy ridge over the eyes. In the wild they’re remarkably adaptable, often turning up around porches, drains and bathrooms to take advantage of insect traffic while still using tree hollows and crevices as daytime retreats. Activity ramps up at dusk, with most hunting done from a chosen perch rather than constant roaming.

Taxonomy shifts in modern references often place them in Ranoidea (you’ll still see Litoria used widely in the hobby), but the care goal stays the same: vertical space, stable mid-20s temperatures with a cooler end, and humidity provided in pulses with good ventilation.
