Tropical Aqua-Alkal pH Plus is a water treatment designed to raise and stabilise pH in freshwater aquariums. It is particularly suited to keepers maintaining biotopes that naturally run alkaline — including Malawi cichlid setups, Tanganyikan tanks housing species such as Tropheus, and Central American cichlid aquariums where a higher pH is not optional but essential to the animals' health.

For greater control — particularly in sensitive or heavily stocked systems — the recommended approach is to treat water separately before gradually introducing it to the tank.
