Product Information

Silent brown crickets in the medium/small size are a staple livefood for juvenile reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. Gut-loaded before packing and dispatched directly from the breeder, these are a nutritious, easy-to-digest feeder insect suited to daily use across a wide range of species.

Why Silent Crickets?

Unlike standard crickets, silent brown crickets produce no chirping, making them far more practical to keep in the home. At medium/small size they are manageable for younger or smaller animals that would struggle with full-sized feeders. They are farm-bred under controlled conditions and pre-fed before dispatch to maximise their nutritional content on arrival.

Suitable Species

  • Juvenile bearded dragons
  • Juvenile geckos
  • Juvenile chameleons
  • Frogs and other amphibians
  • Mantids
  • Spiders and tarantulas

Packaging

Crickets arrive in a ventilated plastic tub with egg-box cardboard inside, which increases surface area and reduces the risk of overcrowding or trampling during transit. Small air holes along the sides maintain airflow while keeping the insects securely contained. In warmer months the outer box may carry additional perforations for ventilation; in colder months a heat pack may be included to maintain a safe temperature during delivery.

Gut-Loading and Ongoing Care

To keep your crickets as nutritious as possible between delivery and feeding, continue gut-loading them at home. Offer fresh leafy greens, carrots, squash, or sweet potato — these provide hydration as well as nutrients. Remove uneaten food daily to prevent mould and keep conditions clean. House them at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and draughts, with adequate space and hiding spots to reduce stress and mortality.

Freshness and Dispatch

Livefood is dispatched five days a week using fast courier services, packed on the day of dispatch and sent straight from the breeder to minimise time in transit. If your order arrives in poor condition or the size or quality is not as expected, contact Viperia's team and the issue will be resolved.

Well-maintained, gut-loaded crickets make a meaningfully better meal — investing a small amount of time in their care between delivery and feeding directly supports the health and digestion of your animal.
