Product Information

Extra-large silent brown crickets, supplied in bulk bags of 500, are a staple feeder insect for adult reptiles, large amphibians, and insectivorous invertebrates. At this size, they are well-suited to animals that need a substantial, protein-rich feed — from adult bearded dragons and monitor lizards to pacman frogs and tarantulas. Gut-loaded before dispatch and sent direct from the breeder, these arrive in the best possible nutritional condition.

Why silent brown crickets?

Silent brown crickets are widely used by reptile keepers because they are easy to handle, nutritious, and straightforward for most animals to digest. They are farm-bred under controlled conditions and gut-loaded prior to packing, meaning the nutritional value is at its peak when they reach your door. The extra-large size makes them appropriate for adult animals that would find smaller feeders unsatisfying or insufficient.

Suitable for

  • Bearded dragons
  • Monitor lizards
  • Water dragons
  • Basilisks
  • Skinks
  • Turtles
  • Pacman frogs and bullfrogs
  • Large insectivorous invertebrates such as mantis and tarantulas

Packaging and transit

The crickets are packed in vented tubs with egg carton sections inside, increasing surface area and reducing the risk of overcrowding or trampling in transit. Small air holes along the tub sides maintain airflow while keeping the insects contained. During warmer months the outer box may carry additional perforations for ventilation; in colder conditions a heat pack may be included to maintain a safe temperature during delivery.

Keeping them in good condition

Store your crickets at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and draughts. Provide appropriately sized housing with hiding spots to prevent overcrowding. Feed them regularly on fresh leafy greens, carrot, squash, or sweet potato — these provide both hydration and nutrients. Remove uneaten food daily to prevent mould. Crickets that are well-fed right up until use deliver significantly better nutrition to your animals than those left without food.

Feeding guide

  • Continue gut-loading with leafy greens, carrot, or sweet potato until the crickets are used
  • Specialist gut-load products can be used alongside fresh food to further boost nutritional value
  • Remove uneaten food from the cricket enclosure daily to maintain hygiene
  • Well-fed, hydrated crickets are more beneficial to your reptile's health and digestion

Supplied direct from the breeder and dispatched five days a week, these extra-large silent crickets are a reliable bulk feeder option for keepers with multiple animals or those on a regular feeding schedule. Any concerns about condition or quality on arrival — contact the Viperia team directly.
