Feeding Guidance

Psittacus Omega can form the sole diet or be used alongside fresh fruit and vegetables for variety. When fed alongside fresh food, this diet should constitute no less than 70–80% of total daily intake. An exception applies to Eclectus parrots, which have a high requirement for fresh sweet fruit and should be managed accordingly. Daily intake is typically 5–10% of the bird's body weight; medium-sized species such as the African grey generally consume between 25 and 45g per day, though environmental temperature can significantly affect consumption.
