Psittacus Mini Hand Feeding Formula 350g — Small Parrot Species

Psittacus Mini Hand Feeding 350g is a follow-on hand rearing formula developed specifically for small parrot species. It picks up where the neonatal phase ends, supporting healthy development through to emancipation in species such as budgerigars, cockatiels, lovebirds, Neophema parrots, and galahs. If you are raising any of the genera Melopsittacus, Nymphicus, Agapornis, Neophema, or Eolophus, this is the formula designed for that work.

When to Use It

This is not a first-day formula. It is intended for use once the initial neonatal phase has passed — in cockatiels, for example, that means from the second week of life onwards. For very young animals in their first week, a crop milk formula is recommended first, transitioning to a blend of both before moving to this formula exclusively. From that point, Psittacus Mini Hand Feeding is used right through to weaning.

Feeding Guidelines

Daily intake is calculated at 7 to 10 ml of prepared formula per feeding bout, per 100 g of body weight. The number of feeds per day will vary depending on the species being raised and the age of the chick. During the weaning phase, the formula should be phased out gradually, replacing it with a dry adult diet rather than stopping abruptly.
