Aluminium Frame Construction

Black aluminium corner posts run the full length of every outer edge, doing the structural work that wooden plinths and thick panels would otherwise handle. This locks the side and back panels firmly in place, removes the risk of panels warping or splitting over time, and eliminates the need for bulky front support uprights that obstruct the view into the enclosure.

Panel Specification and Weight

Because the aluminium frame carries the structural load, the panels themselves can be thinner and lighter without any loss of rigidity. The bottom panel is 12mm melamine-coated chipboard, the side panels are 6mm melamine-coated chipboard, and the top panel is 15mm — in line with the standard that allows equipment such as lighting and heating to be screwed directly into the ceiling and held securely. The overall result is an enclosure that is noticeably lighter than a comparable all-wood build and straightforward to move if needed.

Visibility and Front Access

With no front support plinths required, the sliding glass doors extend from a bottom strip of glass all the way to the ceiling of the enclosure.
