The PR T5 Lamp Hood 8w is a compact T5 UVB lighting hood designed for use with 30cm 8w T5 UVB lamps in smaller terrariums and vivariums. It suits keepers who want reliable, even UVB and visible light distribution without bulk, and is compatible with T5 UVB tubes from a range of manufacturers provided they match the correct length and wattage.

Reflector & Ballast

An integrated polished aluminium reflector directs light output efficiently downward into the enclosure, maximising the usable UVB and visible light from the lamp. The built-in electronic ballast delivers an instant, flicker-free start — no warm-up delay, no cycling — which is important for the wellbeing of photosensitive reptiles and amphibians.

Mounting Options

The hood can be positioned in three ways: sat on top of a mesh-topped terrarium, suspended above the enclosure, or mounted directly to the ceiling of a vivarium using the included fixing kit and brackets. If attaching to a vivarium ceiling, check that the provided screws are shorter than the thickness of the top panel before fitting.
