PR Hemp Bedding is a natural, fibrous substrate made from dried, chopped hemp plant stems. Suitable for a wide range of snakes, tortoises, and small mammals, it delivers a clean, low-maintenance base layer for vivariums and terrariums where a dry to semi-dry environment is required.

What It's Made From

Produced from the dried, chopped stems of the hemp plant, this bedding is highly absorbent, dust-free, and odourless once laid. Being completely biodegradable, it is also safe if accidentally ingested — a practical consideration for snakes and tortoises that explore substrate with their mouths.

How to Use It

Spread evenly across the enclosure floor to a minimum depth of 2.5–5cm (1–2 inches). Spot-clean daily to remove waste and soiled material, and replace the entire substrate every two to three weeks, or sooner if it becomes heavily wet or contaminated.

Using With Heat Mats

If your setup uses an under-tank heat mat as the primary heat source, avoid laying this substrate too deep directly over the mat. Excessive depth can restrict heat dissipation and cause the mat to overheat — always follow the heat mat manufacturer's guidance on safe substrate depth.
