PR Beech Chips Fine is a kiln-dried wood substrate suited to a wide range of larger snakes, lizards, birds, and mammals. What It's Made From

How to Use It

Spread evenly across the base of the enclosure to a depth of at least 2.5–5cm (1–2 inches). Spot-clean daily to remove waste and soiled material, and replace the substrate entirely every two to three weeks — or sooner if it becomes heavily wet or contaminated.

Using With Heat Mats

If an under-tank heat mat is your primary heat source, avoid laying a thick layer of beech chips over it. Excessive depth can insulate the mat and cause it to overheat. Always follow the heat mat manufacturer's guidance on substrate depth when using under-tank heating.
