What It's Made From

The chips are kiln-dried to reduce moisture and minimise dust, making them more hygienic in the vivarium and easier on the respiratory systems of sensitive species. The wood is sourced from sustainably managed forests, so there's no compromise on environmental credentials.

How to Use It

Spread the substrate evenly across the enclosure floor to a depth of at least 2.5–5cm (1–2 inches). Spot-clean daily to remove waste and soiled material, and carry out a full replacement every two to three weeks — or sooner if the substrate becomes heavily wet or contaminated.

Using With Heat Mats

If your enclosure uses an under-tank heat mat, avoid laying a deep layer of beech chips directly over it. Excessive substrate depth can restrict heat dissipation and cause the mat to overheat. Always follow the heat mat manufacturer's guidance on substrate depth when using any under-tank heating.
