ProRep Aspen Bedding 10 Litre | Reptile Vivarium Substrate

PR Aspen Bedding is a clean, natural loose substrate suited to snakes, many lizards, birds, and small mammals. Made from shredded wood sourced from sustainable forests, it is soft, dust-free, odourless, and highly absorbent — ticking the boxes that matter most for everyday vivarium maintenance.

What It's Made From

The bedding is produced from non-toxic shredded wood taken from sustainably managed forests. There are no harmful additives or chemical treatments, making it a straightforward, animal-safe choice for a wide range of dry-habitat enclosures.

How to Use It

Spread PR Aspen Bedding evenly across the enclosure floor to a depth of at least 2.5–5cm (1–2 inches). This depth supports natural burrowing behaviour in species that exhibit it, and gives the substrate enough volume to absorb waste effectively between cleans.

Maintenance

• Spot-clean daily to remove soiled or wet areas
• Replace the full substrate every two to three weeks under normal conditions
• Replace more frequently if the enclosure becomes heavily soiled or damp

Heat Mat Compatibility — Important Note

If you are running an under-tank heat mat as your primary heat source, avoid applying an excessively thick layer of aspen directly above it. Restricting airflow around a heat mat can cause it to overheat. Always follow the heat mat manufacturer's guidelines alongside this substrate.
